Open Your Eyes

Since I've been on this path the past few years, I've learned that I was
so involved  with daily  living I didn't see all that was happening around
me.  How our leaders weren't always doing what was best for the
country or telling us things that weren't true.  Blindly listening to our
doctors not realizing the model they followed or point of view they had.
Or if other professionals had our best interest in mind when we used
their services.  I've learned you need to be proactive concerning your
own affairs including your health. Remember the life you save may be
your own.

Attitude is Everything

Since I've been ill, I knew that I had to focus on maintaining a positive outlook
no matter how I felt or what challenges I faced to give myself the best chance
of minimizing stress and regaining my health.  I believe no matter what challenge
you face physical, mental, or emotional you must approach each dawn focusing
on positive goals.  There are two types of people in the world, internals and
externals.  Internals are proactive believing with postive self expectancy that
they can to some extent control their world. Externals believe they are controlled
by the world around them.  As Paul J. Meyer says " Attitude is Everything."
In 1975 , as a teenager, my late wife Patricia wrote,
" Happiness is found even in sadness,
As long as within there is hope."

My Journey Through Self Discovery

Over two years ago,  I became confined to a wheelchair because my left leg was
amputated  caused by an infection.  Having just lost my loving wife a little over a
year before, I needed to make sense of everything and so I began to search.
While on my quest, I came upon the Gospel of Thomas where Jesus speaks
of taking a path towards self discovery to learn who you are. I decided to
take the challenge to " know myself."  This journey has opened my eyes making
me see the world in a new light.  I will be sharing my insights in the posts to come.
