Let Him Who Seeks Continue Seeking Until He Finds

" Let him who seeks continue seeking until he finds." Are words spoken by Yeshua
in the Gospel of Thomas that I've used on my quest to restore my health from my
diabetes and neuropathy.  For over two years, I have continually researched on
the internet, books, newsletters, and recordings to find a way to the knowledge
I needed to heal myself. I kept believing in the saying and now I have found the
way towards healing myself. In so many of the things that we try we give up
before we reach our goal and yet the prize we sort might have been very close
at hand.. To quote Winston Churchill, '" Never give up, Never give up, Never
Never give up." I have learned that things don't always happen on our time table.

Path Towards Enlightment

If we want to know the Father to share the same conciousness as Yeshua Ben
Josef did then we need to follow the path of Love and Truth  towards all our
fellow creatures.  My late wife Patricia wrote in one of her poems
                           What  is love,
but to have an open mind
                              to the opinions
                              of others.
Our world is going through a lot of upheaval so now be a good time to
learn to live in harmony to seek the way of Yeshua.

Keys Elements To Good Health

In my desire to heal myself I'm constantly researching for relevant information.
I've learned, in this quest, that there are four key elements to obtaining and
maintaining good health. They are diet, exercise, drinking water, and oxygen.
I've discovered the current standard american diet (sad) causes many of the
chronic health conditions we have such heart disease, arthritis, and diabetes.
A good resource I've found is Dr. Fuhrman's book Eat To Live as well as
the films Food Matters  and Forks over Knives both of which are on Netflix.
They should open your eyes to how important your diet is and what you can
do about it.  We all know exercise is important and need to make the time to
do it regularly even if it's just walking briskly three times per week. I've read
that 85% of us are dehydrated and need to consume more clean water daily.
To learn more about the dangers view Dr. Batmanghelidj website
www.watercure.com.  Filling our bodies with oxygen is vital to keeping us
alive and maintaining our health as many diseases thrive in an anarobic environment
but can't survive in an high oxygen environment. This is true of many conditions
especially cancer.  To learn  more about the benefits of filling our bodies with oxygen
view Ed McCabe , known as Mr. Oxygen, website www.oxygenhealth.com.

Reflections on What's Important in our Lives

As I reflect about  the most important moments in my life,  I realize they're about
relationships I've had with others.  Whether it's been a spouse, family member,
or friend these are  the moments we should treasure as they are gone before
we realize it.   My wife passed over four years ago, we were married  for
seventeen wonderful years, there is a part of me that still aches and longs to
be with her. So I believe we should  stop for a moment from our hectic
lives to realize what we have and feel blessed for it.

A Way of Thought

I have come to realize that it is important not to get caught up in our
own self importance or the need to be always right as it clouds our
thinking , causes disharmony in our lives, alienates others toward us,
and limits clear thinking.  The Tao talks about the philosophy of
self moderation which balances our lives leading on a path of
understanding, openness, love,and truth.

A View of Medical Treatment

I have learned through my journey since 1998, when my wife and I were hit by
a car, about the medical treatment we receive. Alot of it depends on the
medical model and point of view your doctor has. For example if your
doctor is allopathic ( conventional ) then he/she is focused on managing
symtoms and using drugs or surgery.  While if your doctor is intergrative,
functional, or naturpathic then their focused on finding the cause of your
condition and looks for a cure using mostly natural treatments. Also your
doctor's point of view whether open or closed or somewhere in
between plays a big part in the treatment you will receive and the range
of knowledge your doctor has.  For example all the treatments reversing
neuropathy are alternative which many allopaths have no knowledge of.
I believe you need to have this knowledge to get the best health outcome.

Taking Control of My Health

Being diabetic, I'm constantly researching for new information concerning
improving my health. Recently I watched a wonderful documentary on
diet called Forks Over Knives which lead me to research plant based
diets which scientific research shows can prevent or reverse chronic
health conditions . I'm starting a plant based diet to reverse my diabetes
and neuropathy.  I'm following a program developed Dr. Joel Fuhrman
who wrote a book, which I'm reading, called Live To Eat and has an
educational website www.dr.fuhrman.com.. I'll keep you informed of
my progress.

The Power of Stories

As I'm working on developing my storytelling podcast, I'm reminded of
the power of stories and the valuable lessons they teach us.  From the
fables of Aesop to the parables of Jesus to folk tales, myths and
world legends each sharing a powerful message that can guide us
to live happier  and more productive lives if only we'll take the
time to really listen.

Taking Control

Even though I'm limited physically because of the neuropathy, I've decided
that I need to take charge of my life and charge forward setting goals,
establishing priorities, and push my health and career forward. I'm now
working on publishing a storytelling podcast, working on ideas for
webinars, and finding solutions to heal my body.  As the old saying
goes " I will find a way or make one" . I have learned no matter what
other people say, think, or do you can't give up.

Open Your Eyes

Since I've been on this path the past few years, I've learned that I was
so involved  with daily  living I didn't see all that was happening around
me.  How our leaders weren't always doing what was best for the
country or telling us things that weren't true.  Blindly listening to our
doctors not realizing the model they followed or point of view they had.
Or if other professionals had our best interest in mind when we used
their services.  I've learned you need to be proactive concerning your
own affairs including your health. Remember the life you save may be
your own.

Attitude is Everything

Since I've been ill, I knew that I had to focus on maintaining a positive outlook
no matter how I felt or what challenges I faced to give myself the best chance
of minimizing stress and regaining my health.  I believe no matter what challenge
you face physical, mental, or emotional you must approach each dawn focusing
on positive goals.  There are two types of people in the world, internals and
externals.  Internals are proactive believing with postive self expectancy that
they can to some extent control their world. Externals believe they are controlled
by the world around them.  As Paul J. Meyer says " Attitude is Everything."
In 1975 , as a teenager, my late wife Patricia wrote,
" Happiness is found even in sadness,
As long as within there is hope."

My Journey Through Self Discovery

Over two years ago,  I became confined to a wheelchair because my left leg was
amputated  caused by an infection.  Having just lost my loving wife a little over a
year before, I needed to make sense of everything and so I began to search.
While on my quest, I came upon the Gospel of Thomas where Jesus speaks
of taking a path towards self discovery to learn who you are. I decided to
take the challenge to " know myself."  This journey has opened my eyes making
me see the world in a new light.  I will be sharing my insights in the posts to come.
